Clock hours and CPT

Hi all,We have a Comprehensive Postsecondary and Transition program based at NYIT in Suffolk county in NY.  During our application process for the CPT we were advised that our certificate program needed to be considered in clock hours (rather than semester/credit hours) for financial aid purposes. However, we are continually running into difficulties with our student information system with the registrar (we are currently converting from Datatel to People Soft) in that it really does not have a…See More

Welcome to the Think College NY Ning!

Welcome!  The Institute for Innovative Transition at the University of Rochester invites you to join this Ning page. This page grew out of a project funded by the New York State Developmental Disabilities Planning Council. We hope this space can serve as a venue for conversations about postsecondary education for students with disabilities.

Here at the Institute for Innovative Transition, we are proud to support inclusive higher education opportunities for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  To that end, through the TPSID grant, the Institute for Innovative Transition organized the Western New York College Consortium, a consortium of four Rochester-area institutions of higher learning:

University of Rochester
Keuka College
Monroe Community College
Roberts Wesleyan College

We believe that the door to postsecondary education should be open to all students, and are invigorated about the wonderful initiatives happening all across New York and the United States.

To students, we would love to hear about your experiences in postsecondary education.  Please feel free to share your thoughts, ideas, experiences, and questions here.

To educators, families, and providers, we look forward to learning about your programs, experiences, ideas, and resources you've found helpful.  Thanks for joining the conversation!
